Wet Start to Early August!

A decent chance of rain stays in the forecast as we start the work week (and "back to school" for EBR parish Wednesday!). A 50% chance will be possible today and tomorrow with most of the activity during the afternoon. A weak trough of low pressure and a frontal boundary, that will stall to the north of us, will keep an unsettled weather pattern alive the next 48 hours. By midweek and on through the weekend, we'll see a 30% - 40% chance ... afternoon highs in the low/mid 90s for the next several days! - Diane Deaton, WAFB Storm Team

Quiet Morning - Showers This Afternoon ...

We're waking to a MUCH quieter scan on Titan 9 Doppler radar than we experienced last night!! However, all in all, fairly typical early August weather is in our forecast ... scattered showers and storms the next few days (30% - 40%) and highs in the low/mid 90s. By Friday, we're back to a 50-50 chance; 20% - 30% Saturday and Sunday! - Diane Deaton, WAFB Storm Team

40-50% Rain Chance Next Few Days

We should see a bit more coverage of showers and storms today as we expect sct'd afternoon showers and storms. That trend will continue to end the week as a weak cool front sweeps into South Louisiana. The big question is whether this front will make it all the way through our stall near the area. For now we'll call for a slow passage during the day Saturday. That will result in lower rain chances Saturday through Monday. By the middle of next week rain chances should go up again. - Jeff Morrow & Diane Deaton / WAFB Storm Team

Back to work, Back to school, Back to rain ...

A storm system will keep a rather unsettled weather pattern in the forecast for our viewing area later this afternoon/evening, bumping up rain chances once again ... back into the "likely" category! As the week progresses, expect a 20% - 30% rain chance; however, another cool front is forecasted to move into South Louisiana late Friday into Saturday. That will bump up rain chances, back to 40% - 50%! Diane Deaton, WAFB Storm Team

Hot Forecast Continues

Rain chances will remain fairly low for the next couple of days. We'll see only iso'd showers for today while a slightly better chance will exist Wednesday and Thursday. Highs will be in the mid 90°s to end the work week. A cool down will occur by the weekend because of higher rain chances. A 50/50 shot will be possible Saturday and Sunday with highs only in the low 90°s. Sct'd showers and storms will continue into the start of the work week. - Jeff Morrow & Diane Deaton / WAFB Storm Team
