Scattered Showers Hang Around Next Few Days

Rainfall has diminished in intensity as we've moved through the day, but we've seen some spots pick up more than 1" here in the metro area and more than 3" in Southwest Louisiana. We may pick up another 0.50" or so before the day is over as rains continue to push to the SE. Wednesday and Thursday won't be complete wash outs as we keep a few sct'd showers in the forecast. The weather will certainly be damp and dreary as clouds hang around and temperatures turn chilly. We finally see some sun on Friday, but temperatures will remain cool. An iso'd showers may be possible Saturday as a weak disturbance passes. The remainder of the week and start of next week should be mainly dry with warming temperatures. - Jeff Morrow, WAFB Storm Team

Hoping for a Little Sun on Thursday!

Scattered light showers will remain possible overnight, but most of the rains should exit the area by Thursday morning. We're hoping to see some breaks in the clouds on Thursday, but we'll still call it mostly cloudy with highs topping out in the mid 50°s. A sun/cloud mix and cool temps are once again expected on Friday. Some uncertainty remains, but we'll put scattered showers in the forecast on Saturday. For now, rain chances are posted at 30%, but it's possible we may have to nudge those upward in the next day or two. Otherwise, look for generally cool weather to continue through the weekend. - Steve Caparotta / WAFB Storm Team

Cold Start to Monday

Skies have been slow to clear after Sunday morning’s rains, but we’ll see clear skies overnight leading to a cold morning start to Monday. Morning lows will be in the mid to upper 30°s so bundle up the kids as they head back to school. Monday will see plenty of sunshine leading to a very nice afternoon with highs in the low 60°s. A warm front will push into South Louisiana late Tuesday leading to a few sct’d showers and t-storms. Higher rain chances will exist Wednesday and Thursday as a storm system develops and moves overhead. We won’t see completely dry weather to end the week as a weak cold front will stall across the area Friday and Saturday; that will lead to iso’d showers being left in the forecast and mild temperatures hanging around. A stronger cold will move through late Sunday bringing back sct’d showers and t-storms. - Jeff Morrow / WAFB Storm Team

Clouds, Wet Weather Returning

It was nice to enjoy some sunshine to start out the week, but clouds and rains are quickly returning to the forecast. Look for generally overcast conditions by the time you wake up on Tuesday, with lows in the mid 40°s. And while the day should start out dry, rains -- along with a few t-storms -- will increase late in the day into Tuesday night. Wet weather appears as though it continues into the early part of Wednesday, although the second half of the day may break somewhat of a break in the rains. However, another round of showers and t-storms is expected by Thursday afternoon/evening as a cool front approaches from the west. The front likely stalls before ever reaching us, leaving the chance for a few showers in the area on Friday and Saturday. Yet another round of significant rains appears possible by Sunday with a stronger cold front. Keep an umbrella handy this week! - Jay Grymes & Steve Caparotta / WAFB Storm Team

Rains Continue for Most Today

Rain showers will continue today with a majority of the wet weather occurring south of the I-10/12 corridor. A few iso'd t-storms will be in the mix too. Things will be mainly dry over the weekend as we have iso'd showers possible early Saturday and again late Sunday as our next storm system approaches. Highs will stay near 70° over the weekend. A cold front will push into the area on Monday bringing sct'd to numerous showers and t-storms. The mid week period looks to be dry and slightly cooler. Morning lows starting Tuesday will be in the 40°s and highs will be in the mid 60°s. - Jeff Morrow & Diane Deaton / WAFB Storm Team
