Most Wintry Precip Stays North

An upper-low will produce wintry precipitation across parts of the Deep South late tonight into Thursday, but it looks like most of the WAFB viewing area will miss out. The best chance of seeing any wintry weather will be from near the LA/MS line into SW Mississippi, with the most likely timing being from about midnight through 6 AM on Thursday. Significant accumulations are not expected for our viewers. However, with temps expected to be near freezing early Thursday, watch out for some slick spots on bridges and elevated roadways. Otherwise, we look forward to sunshine finally returning on Thursday! In fact, it looks like sunshine will stay with us for a while, with temps gradually warming into the weekend! - Jay Grymes & Steve Caparotta / WAFB Storm Team
